General Litter Information
HEALTH
We do our very best to make sure all dogs/bitches that we breed or breed too have EXCELLENT TEMPERAMENTS and are healthy. We health test our dogs before breeding. Please understand that health testing isn’t a guarantee that a dog will be 100% healthy and never develop any health problems/issues. Health testing is a tool not a guarantee. Many things factor into good health other than genetics. Please remember these are living breathing animals so nother is every 100%.
SOCIALIZATION
The puppies are exposed to a variety of sounds, objects, car rides and toys. We have a separate puppy yard that has lots of enrichment toys and objects for the puppies to play with, to crawl under and over and go inside of. They are socialized with our other dogs, bug and small (I also have Chihuahua’s) adults and children. We spend one on one time with each of the puppies daily. All puppies are stacjed and gone over several times a day including being touched from head to toe. All puppies are raised in our home, not in a kennel. We’ve NEVER had any complaints about our temperaments. We are actually known for our excellent temperaments.
DEPOSITS
We require a $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit when the puppies are between 4 to 6 weeks old. We only accept deposits from approved homes. All deposits are non-refundable but can be transferred to another litter. If Buyer backs out wanting a puppy, NO REFUND will be granted.
AKC REGISTRATION
All show prospects with full registration are co-owned with us. If you are a proven show home we may make an exception. All companion/pet puppies are sold on limited registration (which means they cannot be bred or shown). They will also have a spayed/neutered contract. We DO NOT sell puppies for just breeding purposes, sell to back yard breeders, puppy mills or pet stores. We send in all AKC registration papers. You will receive a copy of the paperwork.
AKC REGISTERED AND CALL NAMES
ALL puppies will carry the COLRA name first on their AKC paperwork. New owners may choose any call name for the new puppy. All official AKC names need to be approved to make sure it hasn’t been used and isn’t derogatory.
APPLICATION/SALES CONTRACT
All interested parties must fill out our puppy application and go through our approval process. Once approved, all homes must sign a Contract. Our contract includes our guarantee, what is expected from you as a buyer, and from us as the Breeder, information on feeding, breeding and showing, spay/neuter contract, general care and much more.
PLACEMENT AGE
NO puppies leave before 8 weeks of age. We do several evaluations on the puppy’s conformation for showing puposes, their temperaments for possible Service/Therapy dogs. We send pictures and videos of the puppies to other Champion Breeders, Professional Handlers and sometimes Judges. We may hold on to the top show prospects until 12 weeks if we feel it’s necessary before making our choice/s. We breed for ourselves and sometimes it takes a little longer to choose our keeper puppy/s.
SHIPPING/DELIVERY
We prefer NOT to ship puppies. We like to meet all of our potential puppy owners and would assume that you would want to meet us too along with seeing the dam and any littermates or other family members. If this is not an option due to location, we can ship puppies weather permitting. Please note there is an Airline HEAT EMBARGO from May 1st until September 1st when puppies cannot be shipped. Buyer is responsible for ALL shipping costs, the create, Health Certificate from a Veterinarian. There is a $100.00 fee to dliever the puppy to the Las Vegas Airport and a $200 fee to deliver the puppy to the Ontario Airport. Sometimes we can deliver puppies to the surrounding state for an additional fee. Call for pricing. These fees cover the cost of gas, my time, possible hotel and time off work if necessary.
CROPPED OR NATURAL EARS
ALL puppies remain natural eared. Cropping can be done at an ADDITIONAL cost above the cost of the puppy only if the following requirements are met. If a new owner would like their puppy cropped, they must show proof of having taped ears before that have stood, have their Vet tape them or another experienced person tape them. No exceptions. The cost of the puppy and cropping is to be PAID IN FULL prior to cropping. New owners must understand the HUGE responsibility of taking care of cropped ears. Taping can take anywhere from 4 months to 2 years depending on the aftercare. Please note, croppiung is a surgery and there are risks with all surgeries. We do not offer a guarantee if there is an issue with the puppy being cropped as this is an elective surgery for cosmetic reasons only. Puppies that are cropped after leaving our care are not guaranteed.
